Through the Wasatch Peaks Foundation, we have the incredible opportunity to give back to the communities that have shown unwavering support to our credit union, employees, and members.
While we thoroughly enjoy participating in summer city celebrations, parades, and cheering on local high school football games under the Friday Night Lights during the fall, there is no denying that our favorite time of the year is the holiday season. It is during this magical time that we witness the best in people and businesses, as hearts are filled with warmth and generosity.
As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of giving and community becomes even more prominent at Wasatch Peaks Credit Union. We believe in the power of coming together to make a positive impact.
Each year, as the holidays approach, our employees actively contribute to a Sub for Santa program to provide gifts for 20 to 25 children for Christmas. The Wasatch Peaks Skip-a-Pay program, which assists our members with their Christmas expenses, begins in November. For a nominal fee of $25, our members can choose to skip their November, December, or January loan payment. Every dollar collected from these fees is donated to local charities and foundations, allowing us to make a meaningful impact in our community.
However, our most impactful yearly campaign is our Warm the Soles initiative. With the generous support of our members, employees, and local businesses, we are able to purchase brand-new shoes for school children in need. We work closely with our local school districts to identify the schools and families that require assistance the most. Our team personally wraps and delivers these shoes, ensuring that each child feels the warmth and love from our community. Last year alone, we raised an astounding $51,240, providing 1,300 pairs of shoes to children from 13 local elementary schools.
