Fraud Notifications

Experience card security with our new notifications

Wasatch Peaks is implementing a new feature that enables us to alert our members of potential credit and debit card fraud via text message. Ensuring the safety and security of our members is a priority for us and we’re excited to offer our new text alert feature.

How it Works

Currently, members receive a phone call if a card transaction is suspicious or is suspected to be fraudulent. As of Wednesday, April 7, 2021, we will be moving forward with this new feature and members will be contacted via an interactive text message instead of a phone call.

This text message will provide details of the suspected transaction and instructions on how you can respond to the message. Here is a list of potential responses that you can make and what actions will be made in response:

  • Yes” – You recognize and approve of the transaction and your card will remain active.
  • “No” – You do not recognize the transaction and your card will be blocked.
  • “Stop” – You no longer want to receive fraud alerts via text. You will need to contact Wasatch Peaks to reinstate alerts.
  • “Help” – You will be provided with a phone number to call the credit union and receive additional help regarding the transaction.

We want to ensure that you receive the fraud notification in a timely manner to prevent any potential additional transactions. If you don’t respond to the text message within 5 minutes, you will receive an email. If you don’t respond to the email after 5 more minutes, you’ll then receive a phone call to notify you of the transaction.

Please note that if you do not have a cell phone number or email address listed on your account, your fraud notifications will continue to be sent to your primary phone number.

If you have any questions regarding a transaction that you have received an alert for, please contact us by calling 801-627-8700. We’re happy to answer your questions and assist you.
